Australian Prayer Network
The Australian Prayer Network, believed to be the largest prayer network in Australia, is linked to the International Prayer Movement through the World Prayer Centre in Colorado Springs and the International Prayer Council in South Africa. In Australia we have more than 5500 registered members representing Churches of all Christian denominations, prayer groups and individual intercessors in every State and Territory of the nation. We believe the "hidden" membership, that is those who are members of the Churches and prayer groups represented in our network, runs into tens of thousands more. The aims of the Network are fourfold:- To see spiritual renewal and revival of the Church and spiritual and social transformation of the Nation. To help the Church to more effectively accept spiritual responsibility for the community in which it ministers, both at a local and national level. To train and equip balanced leadership in the area of Prayer, Intercession, Strategic Level Prayer and local and national Mapping and Research initiatives. To mobilise the praying people of Australia as an effective, ongoing and credible support for the ministry of the Church, and to see the spiritual and social transformation of our Nation by the power of God released through prayer.

Parliamentary Prayer Network began in 1993 after a small group of people gathered to pray in Parliament House in Canberra. Since then hundreds of churches and organisations receive our prayer mail and thousands pray for our leaders in groups large and small across the nation. In 2003 we have launched our Schools Programme which partners Christian Schools with their local members and senators. The school prays for their members and senators on a regular basis and builds relationships with them. Our mandate to pray comes from 1 Timothy 2:1 "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence." We pray for all levels of government, their families and staff, regardless of their political or religious persuasion. The work of PPN is well regarded in the Parliament. Our goal is to have prayer covering all Parliaments in Australia. We also believe God will raise up prayer networks to cover legislatures of nations around the globe. Melbourne Prayer Network Many ministries, churches and individuals have faithfully prayed on their own for many years for God’s will to be done and God’s kingdom to be manifest over our city. We perceive God is now raising an interdenominational network of people and organisations across Melbourne who will be led by one Spirit to pray together and communicate what God is saying to each other and across the Body of Christ. Will you pray for the establishment and protection of a prayer network that connects the Body of Christ across Melbourne? Are you called to join or form a prayer group or to link an existing group into a network of prayer across the city? dancing with Jesus
These are the lyrics to one song on Chris Hagger's new worship album "Dancing With Jesus". As pray-ers & intercessors around Australia are drawn more & more into worship with the Father, this album stands out. God sings to us & Jesus invites us to dance with Him. Chris is prophetically gifted and sensitive to the wind of the Spirit. The songs he has written are being used to draw people to the Father and to open hearts for deep healing. Come to me Come to me, I’ll set you free, I never fail If you believe and walk with me you will prevail Give to me your trials Give me your travail I can give you life abundantly Come to me
Come to me and you will see that I am true All this time that you were mine, my love was there for you And know that when I suffered I did it all for you I am here to set the captives free Come to me
Come to me, I’m here so you can hold my hand I’m longing for you even more than you can understand I have been here waiting Waiting patiently I will give you everything you need Come to me
Come to me, I’m everything I say I am My words to you, they will come true because I know my plan When you felt so lonely You weren’t alone at all Listen to me, can you hear me call? Come to me

WHY PRAY?
1. We pray because we love God. We spend time with God in prayer and communion because we love him. Just as a man and woman in love desire to be together and communicate, so we - if we love God - will desire to be with Him and to fellowship with Him in proportion to our love for Him. 2. We pray. Because we depend on God. God is our source. He is our life (Colossians 3:4). Through prayer we receive the comfort, the strength and all the other resources that we need in life - both naturally and spiritually. Prayer - relationship to God - is as necessary to the spiritual life as air to the natural life. 3. We need to pray in order to resist temptation. "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation." (Mt. 26:41). Much sin is the result of the sin of prayerlessness. Through lack of prayer, we are weak, others are weaker and Satan gains the advantage in our lives. 4. We need to pray because it is necessary for men to invite God to act in salvation. God gave the earth to Adam and his descendants. We must invite God to work here. If no-one invites God to work here, Satan (the god of this world through man's universal rebellion - 2 Corinthians 4:4) will dominate the affairs of men and eventually the judgment of God will come. By inviting God often and specifically, multitudes can be saved that would otherwise be lost. 5. We need to pray because God commands us to pray. "Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving." (Colossians 4:2). "Then he [Jesus] spoke a parable to them to this end, that men ought always to pray and not lose heart." (Luke 18:1). The need to pray is as great as the authority of God which commands us: "Pray without ceasing." (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Prayer is so vital to all that God wants to do on the earth, and so essential to us, that God commands us to do it all the time. We should even deny ourselves sleep and food at times in order to pray more and with greater power. (Matthew 6:16; Luke 6:12; Luke 21:36; Colossians 4:2; 2 Corinthians 11:27). The Impact of CHURCH Unity in the City of Casey. Pastors in the City of Casey have been praying with each other and for the city for 13 years and this has had a social impact on the Municipality of Casey. Pr Graeme Cann said this week, ‘Unity has put us in a prophetic place in the city to speak from a Biblical and faith based perspective into what is regarded as a major social problem in the city…’ For the last ten years the Pastor’s Network has prayed with each new mayor and at the opening of Council. Last year the government discovered the City of Casey had the most domestic violence in Melbourne. Casey Council initiated and funded a half million dollar intervention, asking the Pastor’s Network to front the project. In this first year, two Christian health workers have been in employed and 4 pilot churches are developing a project for the city that will, in coming years, be taken up by other churches and community organisations. Through Church unity God’s transformational intervention will impact domestic harmony in this region. Casey is modeling for Melbourne: one Church in the City made up of many congregations. Unity has involved healthy churches participating in a city wide strategy to serve and reach the city through combined projects, including evangelism. Unity has involved intentional leadership whereby pastors enrich each other’s lives and ministry. The fivefold gifts are in operation in the city wide Church with those with pastoral giftings meeting with others for coffee and encouragement and those with evangelical gifts, assisting in local congregations’ evangelical development. Pray for pastors across the Church in Casey and for wellbeing in family relationships in Casey. Source: Transforming Melbourne (Top)

PRAYER JOURNEY'S 2007 - 2011The strategic word: Unlock the ancient gates and rebuild a highway of righteousness from Jerusalem to Gibraltar. God gave this prophetic prayer assignment to Pastor Ben Gray Founder and Apostolic Oversight of the Australia Prayer Network at the start of a visit to Morocco in September 2005. As Ben and Brian Pickering the APN National Coordinator and a small team travelled between Rabat and Meknes in Morocco, the Holy Spirit impressed upon him the need for focused strategic prayer based upon the above word and to begin specific research into the five Nations across North Africa. The purpose was to ‘unlock the ancient gates and to rebuild the highway of righteousness that was in existence in the first six centuries of the modern era.’ Ben felt that God wanted united and dedicated prayer teams to return to this region of the world, and to work in strategic intercession, for the purpose of opening the region to God’s transforming grace and power. In 2006, the APN Strategic Research Unit under Ben’s oversight was formed, and Morocco, as the first of five nations was selected. For eighteen months the group studied and researched the historical, cultural and religious data available. They worked in partnership with workers on the ground in the region and with key Moroccan intercessors. The project was to be seen like a sedimentary rock strata, with many layers – deposits left by cultures, invasions, and spiritual residue over millennia. Input from other Australian intercessors also revealed that Morocco along with Gibraltar and the southern region of Spain ‘formed a large gateway with hinges on the Moroccan side. Together in the spiritual realm both sides had control of the Mediterranean basin, with influence in both continents of Africa and Europe.’ A Prayer Journey was organised in October 2007 to travel to Morocco, Gibraltar and Spain to partner in the spirit with others in seeking to unlock ‘the rusty hinges’ through intercession, worship and prophetic acts. A special scripture given to Ben during this time, was Isaiah 62:10 (NIV) ‘Pass through, pass through the gates. Prepare the way for the people. Build up, build up the highway! Remove the stones. Raise a banner for the nations.’ Highlights of the 2007 tour * In Casablanca, the team visited the second largest mosque in the world which was completed in 1993. It is built over the Atlantic Ocean, with a gigantic glass floor and can accommodate 25,000 worshippers inside and a further 80,000 in the courtyard. It was built upon the water because it is said that Allah’s throne is on the water. Also, it has the world’s tallest minaret at 210 metres. * Near Rabat, the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco and home to the King, they visited a Christian Initiative that supports mentally handicapped children and their parents. The team were regaled with stories of how the new King Mohammed VI has made many positive changes. Significantly, in his first TV address he was flanked by two handicapped children (seen as the lowest in society) and urged the nation to do all that they could to help each other. Tackling poverty and developing the country’s economy are top priorities, as well as resolving the 32 year-old violent conflict with its neighbour Algeria over the Western Sahara province. * At Meknes, the spiritual heart of the nation, the Aussies stood on a rubbish strewn hillside downwind from fresh human excrement to call on our Father in heaven to look down upon our hopeless condition and save this city. Later that day, amongst the Roman ruins at Volubilis, the team soberly reflected on the fleeting nature of mankind. * In nearby Fez, the spiritual brains of the nation situated at a crossroads of Saharan and Atlantic/Mediterranean trade routes, the intercessors peered into one of the oldest Islamic universities in the world. They were made aware of the mixing of ‘true’ Islamic teaching and the worship of the dead that make this city a hallowed land for Sufism. Above the city, the team engaged in dynamic warfare praise against the strategies of bondage that emanated below. * Passing through Oujda to the long closed border with Algeria, a couple of leaders chatted with the border guards and plain clothes ‘administrators’ about the amazing Eucalypt specimens throughout the length of the country. The officials seemed confused when told the gum trees had originated in Australia or it could have been vexing them, “Why had a bunch of Australians travelled from the Atlantic Ocean to the eastern border, where no tourists would ever want to go?” *“I will make a road where there is no road!” Two years previously when God spoke to Ben Gray about travelling along the coast road, it did not exist. The tour bus now sailed along the Mediterranean highway, recently laid to bring regeneration to these areas. * The contrast between the Spanish territories (Melilla and Ceuta) and neighbouring Moroccan towns was stark. Entering ‘Spain’, the infrastructure was polished and complete and consumerism was king. Re-entering Morocco, there was litter everywhere and the land felt abandoned. These gateways into Europe are used to smuggle in tonnes of Moroccan hashish and South American cocaine. The corruption and control of the locals by drug barons is palpable in the nearby Moroccan towns, particularly Chefchaouen in the heart of the Rif Mountains. Here the group were allowed to pass through a locked door that protected the source of the river coming out of the rock. God thus enabled them to call on the Lord to purify this water and hear the cry of the poor/oppressed to re-establish the settlement under His order. * In Cueta, the team felt inspired to pray for a call to establish worship with 24/7 prayer and were encouraged when they chanced upon the underground Roman basilica where the preserved bones of early Christians (circa. 200AD) lay in situ. Also, within Ceuta lay one of the Pillars of Hercules. Monte Hacho rises up steeply from sea level to form a natural fortress that offered fantastic views across to Gibraltar, the other ‘pillar’. This gateway to the Mediterranean/Atlantic was considered to be ‘the ends of the earth’ in antiquity (today Australia and the Pacific islands hold that honour). * Also in Ceuta, some of the team discovered a monument to Franco (right-wing dictator) showing his footprints. He launched his military campaign from there. They prayed for justice and reconciliation. * Sailing from Tangier, the team finished the tour in Gibraltar. As a British overseas territory, the ‘rock’ has a similar status to those of the Spanish enclaves in Morocco. There is political pressure to relinquish these territories. If Britain were to hand Gibraltar to Spain, the Spanish government would have no basis for holding onto Ceuta and Melilla. Prophetically, these settlements are like a ‘string of pearls’ around the Mediterranean and historically they have provided safe havens for Jews. Many commentators have spoken of the strategic spiritual importance of Gibraltar. Satan would like to break the ‘string’ here and cause all the ‘pearls’ to fall off. In the Gibraltar region (El Campo), Ben Gray was asked to address a group of church leaders who were conducting a period of 24/7 prayer. Earlier in the day during a time of ‘throne room’ worship at Europa Point, our Lord spoke through the team to an important local lady and confirmed some of her personal dreams (in one of these God had given her a key). “Worship was the key that would unlock the door, but it would not open it. Unity of believers was required to turn the handle!” One intercessor from outback Queensland, then shared how her prayer partner had seen a vision from God of a sunken ship that was sticking out of the water near a lighthouse and the promise He gave was for thousands of souls to be saved in this place. Looking out beyond the lighthouse, the picture was just as she described it. Everybody was greatly moved! Copy of detailed report listing national and regional outcomes for this Prayer Journey are available from: prayerlink@cityharvest.org.au Unlock North Africa – Egypt 2008. In late Sept early October 2008, Egypt has been targeted as the next country in North Africa to be visited by an Australian led Prayer Journey. Much prayer and research will be done for this nation and other North African nations like, Libya, Tunisia and Algeria over the next few years. This strategic Prayer Assignment will be completed in 2012 in Jerusalem. Pastor Ben Gray will be leading teams to each area, during the next five years. Like the Australian soldiers at Beersheba and in the battle-fields of El Alamein, and Tobruk – standing in support and fighting for freedom for the peoples of this region in past generations, there is a strong leading for us in the Australian Prayer Network and a call by the Lord, to once again go into battle for the people and nations of North Africa. The call is for this region to once again become open and used for God’s divine purpose in the earth. Currently it is a place of restricted access and persecution for Christian believers, needing God to breakthrough. In the past, Australians have been pioneers and an important spearhead for change within this region. There is now opportunity for YOU and others like you, to be involved in strategic intercession, in supporting those who are making a difference for the King and His Kingdom, to join those who are prayer walking on the land, and then going back to your homes, churches and ministries to continue to pray and lift these nations and their people before the throne of God. Please consider being part of this special global prayer initiative to see nations and their people changed, ancient gates opened, and highways of righteousness once again traversing North Africa.
